End of summer blues
Motherhood is a wonderful thing. We have our ups and downs. The days we love mothering and the days we can really use a break. But summer is always a time for treasured moments and laughter, popsicles and pleasures...until August hits. By August, we mothers are usually hot, tired, and in need of a little quiet time. We're ready to have our big-girl lives back. That doesn't mean that we don't love our children, just that we love our sanity, and sometimes sanity needs to be rejuvenated by our own schedules for a few hours of the day; aka school hours.
Becoming Mom
I'm almost 42, not at my perfect weight, not wearing the perfect clothes, and not doing much of what everyone in society calls perfect. But I'm happy. I'm mostly healthy, and my family is secure. Why am I telling you this? Because it's important to know as you read on about becoming your mother....
The Worst Mom Ever!
We all have memories from when we were little of our mothers doing things that we perceived as horribly embarrassing but now realize were not actually all that crazy. I remember feeling like I didn't have the right clothes or that my lunch wasn't cool (brown bread instead of white bread, goopy natural peanut butter instead of smooth jif). When I was a new mom I vowed that my daughter would never feel that way so I always try my best to make sure I do things the "right" way.
