Women's Health: Healthy Breakfasts!
We women have the hardest time eating a healthy breakfast. We wake the kids, rush through making breakfast for others, shove our bodies into uncomfortable outfits so we look great, and head out the door with seconds to spare. It's no wonder we're starved by ten a.m. and hitting the vending machine or grabbing a stale donut from the work kitchenette.
Here are a few quick ideas, courtesy of Thinkhappy!
Power Protein Smoothie (serves 2)
2 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
1 cup yogurt (flavored or plain - you decide)
1/4 cup fresh juice (go with a sugar free if you can)
2 tablesoons honey
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed (if you don't have this, leave it, and the honey out. But if you can buy a package it will last a long time! Great fiber!)
Combine all in a blender, add ice, if desired, sweeten to taste (I use Sweet 'n Low) - Enjoy!!

2 eggwhites - cooked any way you like them! Flavor with Mrs. Dash.
1 piece Ezekial bread (so good for you - no gluten - found in the freezer section of most grocery stores) w/margarine or sugar free jelly
1 cup coffee (I don't drink caffeine, but I know many women who must...so go ahead and indulge - just use non-dairy creamer and low calorie sweetener)
1 grapefruit (proven to help you lose weight!)
If you are really, really hungry, add a low fat turkey sausage link or vegetarian link - they're yummy and low cal!
