The perfect Gift.
I got the most unexpected and perfect gift today. IN the most unexpected place. I love when that sort of things happen. I took all the kids to a salon here that has a small classroom in back I found out and they give free hair cuts on test days. SO ... I figured since Sully, Bri, and of course 2 yr old Ev aren't to good for ahir cuts free is awesome. Cuaes they are going to be messed up anyway.Right? But they look adorable, having young trendy girls who were a bit nervous seemed to help them all relax as well as the students it was all good.
Well half way through a woman and her teen daughter came in. I could tell like only another mother of a high functioning autistic mom could that her daughter was probably on the spectrum. I heard the hair dresser ask her her what school she goes to. SHe said I am homeschooled. Bri perked up and said I am too. Talking to a stranger older girl very impressive. Well that prompted me to begin chatting with the mother. She had been homeschooling for 25 years she has other children who are older. She was so sweet ,wise, willing to share, but most refreshing she wasn't judging infact she understood. Her daughter is lower functioning she says but has many of the same struggles of Bri. I was afraid to ask for her number but as I was leaving she asked if I wanted it what a gift. I can not tell you how reffreshing it was to talk to this woman. She was told by doctors many unpleasant things but she followed her heart to tell her what she should and shouldn't listen to them about. I am so proud of this woman , this stranger for having the guts to follow her own instincts and it has payed off. I am so thankful for our conversation and know I will be of any others we might have. You never know when your gonna get a great gift of support, information, and peace .
Off to pack for our family get away to the beach!
