The morning rush
This morning started out pretty good for me, I woke up on time and didn't hit the snooze button 12 times like I normally do. I made my coffe the night before so I actually had time to sit and relax and wake up. Then I went upstairs to make sure my 17 year old was up and that's when the morning went down hill!! She was so grouchy and running late because she didn't get out of bed when she was supposed to and somehow that became my fault. Since I drive her to school on my way in to work, her running late means I'm running late, so I'm a little tense at this point but I'm trying to stay calm. At 6:30 I remind her we have to leave, she ignores me, 6:40 I feed the dogs (her chore not mine), 6:45 she comes downstairs and starts looking through the fridge for a snack to put in her backpack UGG. I say to her in a VERY nice voice (even though I was shouting in my head) we are 15 minutes late we have to go now, so she slams the fridge closed, grabs her backpack and storms to the car. I look at her while we are driving and she looks like she's ready to kill someone so I say NICELY why are you so grouchy and she says and I quote "because you yelled at me and didn't give me time to get a snack"!!!!!!!! HOLY COW! Needless to say it took all of my motherly love not to pop her one. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how quiet the rest of the ride was LOL!!!
