That time of year again...
Every year around the beginning of March I realize I can no longer avoid addressing the relentless paperwork that is cluttering my desk in a giant, disorganized heap. I feel like a college student again...I should have been keeping up with it along the way, not waiting until the night before the final to cram it all in. Why do I do this every year?
Not sure how other families do it but for some reason the maintenance of our personal finance, bills, medical expenses, donations, etc. rests squarely on my shoulders. My husband has no patience for such things. Let me clarify here, I don't actually do our taxes, just get things ready to hand off to our accountant. Still, it ends up being quite a big job.
I have made the spreadsheets to calculate our doctor and hospital co-pays and our monetary and miscellaneous donations, I just don't seem to go back along the way and actually plug in the numbers. Then I have to add up our childcare bills and remember how much we spent to do our taxes last year in order to be able to fill out the 25 page "Tax Organizer" that our accountant sent which is supposed to make this whole process easier.
Just talking about this is getting me all worked up, guess I need to just go and get started already. No time like the present.
