Home to Italy

I am reading Peter Pezzelli's book Home to Italy. The author is from RI.  I love that he writes some words in Italian. Since my family never taught me how to speak Italian, I am reading it with a Italian-English Translation site so I can look up the words. I kind of know what some of the words are from the text but I want to be sure. I always asked my Grandma to teach me but she would always say "someday" well that "someday" never came. I think my relatives loved that us kids didn't know Italian so they could talk about us and we would have no idea what they are saying.

The book started in Rhode Island and then goes to Italy. It mentions some of the food he ate in Italy and now I am craving Tripe.  I haven't had that in over 25 years. I know my family wouldn't eat it.

"Someday" maybe I will learn Italian.
