Family Surprise!
My boys are big, almost as tall as me (which isn't saying much, really). They're eyes grew big as they looked around at the other children. I watched the uncertainty crawl across their sweet faces, as they fiddled with their entry form and inched closer to one an other. I reached down and tapped their shoulders, my eyes asking if they were okay. One look told me they weren't. I tried reasoning that these kids were just like being around their 4 older teen siblings, but they wanted no part in it.
I felt awful. They had wanted to play laser tag for months, and this seemed the perfect quiet day. The place was empty when we got there, only filling up at the last minute.
We walked out, and I promised to take them during a time when the other, bigger kids would be in school (bad mom, I know). And we passed the pet store.....
I have no idea how it happened. One moment we were talking about going in but not buying another pet, and then next we were walking out with a 3 lb baby boy...Terry...The cutest little silky terrier you've ever seen! They picked an original name - huh? So now Piper, our mini-dach, has a friend, and my boys have smiles on their faces:-)
I was really worried about what my dh would say. But he watched Terry and the boys for a moment, then turned to me and said, "I'm so glad you got him. Look how happy they all are."

Piper is on the left and Terry is on the right...My favorite puppy is in the middle:-) All is well at the Thinkhappy household....
