Cape Cod Heaven
We left early for the Cape this year - Planned to leave on Friday, and decided mid-Thursday to go for it a day early! Our hasty adventure led my hubby to forget his work that he had to bring with him, so we had to circle back and start over.....No biggee when your goal is to be in Cape Cod instead of home! No worries!
With renewed smiles we headed out for our first 6 hours in the car with our 7 and 8 year old. The hours passed uneventfully - we laughed, we pestered each other, we ate (healthy), and we got tired! Bridgeport, CT came upon us fast and my 7 year old exclaimed, "This was the most awesome trip ever!" and all we did was ride in the car! That's the start of a great trip! The next morning we drove for about 3 hours and were at the Cape in what seemed a blink of an eye! An afternoon at the pool and pond, out to dinner and a drive-in movie - YES, drive-in!!!
Saturday came and we were all still smiling (can you believe it?). Spent the morning at an enormous flea market - picked up my favorite hippie jewelry and some guns for the kids (I know, don't lecture me on that), a few baseball cards for hubby - and we hit the pond happy!
Our cottage is darling - walking distance to a pond and pool - bright and cheery rooms - who could ask for anything more?!
Needless to say - we're having a blast and enjoying every second.. I didn't know if I would be able to really go on vacation and not work - but it's truly wonderful. I love this and cannot believe I waited 20 years to say "no" to work! Wow - what a dummy!
Off to enjoy the evening!
